Beware Online Scams
Beware Online Scams

Another lesson well learned. I recently made a purchase and because I was paying via PayPal I assumed that I would be protected from fraud as they offer some protections on eBay. To cut a long story short I was robbed. I never received my goods. I sent an email to the "seller" and it bounced back. I scrubbed the internet for information on the "seller" and came up with nothing.

I then contacted Paypal and their response was such:

In relation to this concern, we ask that you have to contact Clickbank

directly in order for you to have an agreement with them. PayPal can only

process the payment but we have no control about the payments being

received.

I contacted Clickbank and so far have not received any response after a week.

I have accepted the fact that I will never get my money back and that in the end it was my own fault and that I should have done my research. I advise anyone making a purchase online the following

prior to purchase send an email query to the seller to make sure that they actually are legitimate

check their whois records to see if they have a physical address or to check their hosting address

Google their name with scam in the search- if they are bogus someone else would have cottoned on and maybe made a blog post

Don't make quick emotional purchases- there are many clever marketers out their waiting to tug at your emotional triggers

Don't fall for it.
