Tips to Avoid Theft of Your Infiniti

The number of car thefts are increasing annually and Washington DC Infiniti wants to help you avoid becoming a car theft victim. From alarm systems to keyless entry systems, technology goes a long way toward helping us avoid car theft, but there are still a number of things you can do to help prevent it. Here are some tips for keeping your Infiniti safe:

Don't Leave Your Keys in the Car

You may not realize it, but the majority of car thefts occur because the owner left the keys in the car! Even if you're just going to run into the store for one item, don't leave your keys in the car. It's estimated that as many as one in every six car thefts are the result of keys being left in the car don't make it easy for a thief to take your Infiniti.

Park Closer to the Building and in Well-Lit Locations

While parking as far away from your destination gives you some extra exercise, it's not the safest place to leave your car. Look for parking spots closer to the building you're going, and in well-lit areas if it's night time. The further away your car is, and the darker the location, the more your Infiniti will appear a good target for a car thief.

Lock Everything in the Trunk or Leave it Home

If you leave cash in the ashtray, your purse on the seat and CDs scattered all over your Infiniti, you're basically inviting a thief to come and get it! Car thief's are experts at getting into cars even if you lock your doors and if they can't jimmy the doors open, they'll just smash in your windows. Hide all valuables in the trunk or better yet leave them at home.
