subject: More Than Thought [print this page] More Than Thought More Than Thought
The majority of people who call themselves Christians believe that church is more than just a two day a year obligation. It grows beyond each Sunday of the week, and rests in the hearts of a congregation. It is a group of people that share a common bond and set of ideals that causes them to care for one another, as well as those who are in great need. It is a bevy of citizens who work to help the less fortunate, speak the word of God to those who may be lead astray, and worship their lord and savior to thank Him for all the knowledge and blessing He has bestowed upon them through their lives.
As with any religion, there are people who disapprove of and condemn those who practice Christianity. They believe it is a group of hypocrites who put on a faade and don't truly practice what is being taught in the services they attend. This may be true in the secret feelings of some, but one cannot condemn an entire group for a few false cases, and they also cannot make claims when they havent given church the experience that is required to make any judgment. Church is not just a building people go to for worship. It is an idea that is best served through the open minds of people who are willing to put forth the work necessary to make the world a better place. Some may be misguided, misunderstood, or just plain crazy, but there are radicals in every religion. The best way to view church and Christianity is for the message of peace that the Bible speaks about. Peace, love and respect are the main laws that Jesus was trying to teach. These are the tools that are to be used in our everyday lives. These are the teachings that are being passed on through the true Christians. These are the guidelines for a better tomorrow.
