Keep Your Richmond Nissan Warranty Active

While most Richmond Nissan owners understand what a vehicle warranty is, not all realize that their warranty can be voided should drivers fail to hold up their end of the warranty contract.

A warranty is, in fact, a contract that dictates the terms and conditions a manufacturer will honor on a new or used Nissan should something go wrong with it mechanics. Repairs and replacement rules are outline in the warranty but few buyers read enough of the fine print to realize they can jeopardize their warranty if not careful.

Circumstances that Can Void a Warranty

Misusing Your Nissan

If you take your Nissan off-road in a model not designed to handle life off the asphalt and damage occurs, a manufacturer can void the warranty and not have to foot the bill for repair costs. All repairs will rest with the owner. The same is true if you use your Nissan in a race or competition when the vehicle was not meant for such extreme driving challenges. Manufacturers can deny a warranty even if there is no solid proof of misuse. Signs of abuse or neglect that are present are good enough in most cases to issue a void.

Acts of God

If your Nissan was damaged or destroyed due to a natural act of the elements including floods, earthquakes, or tornados, the warranty on the vehicle can be voided.

Tampered Mileage

If you adjust, tamper will, or disconnect the odometer on your Nissan so that our Richmond dealership has no accurate reading of mileage, you will be risking the voiding of your vehicle's warranty.

Total Loss

If you are involved in serious accident where your Nissan has been declared a total loss, the warranty of the vehicle in its entirety will be voided.

Claim Denials

In situations where certain parts or repair costs are not covered by the warranty, the rest of the warranty will remain in effect but some expenses will need to come out of the owner's pocket. All warranty work claims will be submitted by our dealership to the manufacturer. Any repairs not covered under warranty will be rejected and the owners must pay the costs denied in the claim.

Our Richmond dealership would be happy to clarify the warranty coverage on your new or used Richmond Nissan so don't hesitate to stop by with questions. We are happy to help you get your Nissan back in shape if it requires work covered and not covered by your existing warranty. Remember to always follow the guidelines outlined in your warranty contract to prevent a voiding of the warranty.
