subject: Ready Fire Aim Your Way To Success [print this page] Its important to have written goals and specific actions needed to achieve them. So if you have already taken the time to plan your success for 2010 and have begun to take the steps to make it happen, congratulations! You are on your way.
But if you are still working on it or trying to make the perfect plan, consider the words of General George Patton, A good plan violently executed today is far and away better than a perfect plan tomorrow.
Instead take the READY-FIRE-AIM approach. In other words, take a little time (not days) to simply write down what you want in your business and your life. Then identify the primary things or actions you need to take to move you toward them. This is the Ready element.
Now start firing or doing if you will. By doing, you will learn what works and doesnt and can then modify, adjust or re-aim based on what you learn. The problem a lot of people have is they spend too much time aiming (or analyzing) and never get around to firing (or doing)! And you wont get results without doing something.
If you are struggling with identifying all the things you need to do to achieve your lofty goals, then think little steps not massive leaps.
For example, if you want to earn more in 2010, pick 3 things that you can start doing NOW to move you toward this goal. It might be something simple like call five new prospects every work day, or attend 5 events each month and connect with 2 new people at each one, or start a Fan Page on Facebook for your business. The two or three little steps may not be enough to get you there tomorrow, but you can build on them over time to get the results you want.
Dont wait for things to come your way start taking action to make them happen.
