Chiropractic is a heath care system focusing on the musculoskeletal and nervous systems. The principal underlying Chiropractic is that the key to health is the nervous system with the spine at its centre. If the spine is adjusted properly, optimum movement can continue and a person will maintain better health.

The practice of Chiropractic is currently formally regulated in about 60 countries with chiropractic education being taught in a range of educational institutions.

In Australia a minimum of five-years of chiropractic education is required to be able to register as a practicing chiropractor. The Council on Chiropractic Education Australasia undertakes accreditations of Australasian chiropractic courses. TheAustralian Government has also established an authority regulating chiropractors.

Chiropractic is taught at three public universities: RMIT in Melbourne, Murdoch University in Perth and Macquarie University in Sydney.

Chiropractor Sydney Training Macquarie University

Macquarie University in Sydney offers a Bachelor of Chiropractic Science (three years full time) and a Master of Chiropractic (two years full time). Students must complete both to be eligible for registration as a chiropractor in Australia. Macquarie University also offers research courses in chiropractic and operates chiropractic clinics.

Chiropractor Melbourne Training - RMIT

RMIT in Melbourne offers a Bachelor of Applied Science (Chiropractic) (three years full time) and a Master of Clinical Chiropractic (two years full time). In the third year of the bachelor degree there is a heavy emphasis on chiropractic diagnosis and management. The master teaches high-level assessment and psychomotor skills, integrating diagnosis and management with the clinical sciences. Students give supervised patient care RMIT's teaching clinics and in approved external clinics.

Chiropractor Perth Training Murdoch University

Murdoch University in Perth offers a double degree of Bachelor of Chiropractic (BChiro)/Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Chiropractic with a total course duration of 5 years full time. Chiropractic students receive 800 hours of classroom instruction in hands-on therapy in addition to 400 hours of supervised clinical training.
