The original MG F and the newer MG TF are both mid-engined, rear wheel drive roadsters, produced from 1995 till present. The MG F was the first car since 1980 to bear the MG badge, production of the MG TF stopped when MG Rover went into administration in 2005.
MG Rover is now owned by a Chinese company called Nanjing Automobile, the production of the MG TF resumed in 2007 after a 2 year absence. Production was resumed at the Nanjing factory in China with a capacity of 200,000 units per year. There was still some British involvement in the new MG TF as experts from the Longbridge plant were asked to be involved.
In August 2008 the Longbridge plant resumed production of the MG TF for the European market, it was a lightly revised model from China that came as complete knock down kits. The first model to be produced by NAC MG UK at Longbridge was the TF LE500, a run of 500 limited edition models.
The LE500 specification includes leather seats, hard top and soft top, wind stop, CD tuner with MP3 compatibility, rear parking sensors, 16-inch 11-spoke alloy wheels, and front fog lights. The LE500 was followed by a TF 135 model and a further limited edition TF 85th Anniversary, of which only 50 were produced.
There are many dealerships which can cater for MG's range of vehicles, including the MG TF LE500, for MG Servicing in Buckinghamshire we have SMC Cars.
