The old-fashioned follow-up
Once the interested prospect wants to know more about the MLM business the follow-up process can be started. According to the traditional Network Marketing system the answer for this kind of qustion was posting some more information to the rep (sound concepts, videos, sales letters... etc. to explain the industry clearer than a we could.) It used to be done in person or as a postal package. I have to mention that these promotional stuff had to be made of something (CDs,Tapes... etc.) not to mention the cost of sending them through the post. Unfortunately it wasn't enough to do this once as there were some more people on the list they wanted to transfer these promotional stuff.
By the way I used to do the same thing, however I sent the information packages through email. No matter how it was done as regards to this subject, the following step would be the follow-up. This is essential because you can't expect from your prospects (in fact unqualified prospects), to put their money in your pocket plainly because you've given them some information. In the old way of Network Marketing regularly unqualified prospects (not entrepreneurs) were approached with home based business propositions, therefore it was even more important to build relationships and trust with your prospects. In case you were chasing every person you knew you still had to be a person they like and trust.
In modern days people are very busy so a business opportunity has to be shared with them several times to have them make their ultimate decision. That's why follow-up is used in MLM to make the leads think of your opportunity and to have them take action.
Imagine the old-school process for a moment: hero Networker try to aproach everyone he knows (all the people on his list), he sends packages to them, it takes time for the packages to get there, and then starts making phone calls quite a lot of times just to get a rejection. No results, and it cost money and valuable time.
Internet and autoresponders
Basically the best thing about doing the follow-up on using an Internet MLM system is that the Internet cuts down the time period between the first connection and the actual sale. It is also less expensive.
It can do all this without you being there, in the 24 hours of the day. Internet allows you to play in the world, so even when you sleep, on the other side of the world somebody might be requesting some information on your website which you can easily give. It saves you a lot of time and money.
Once your Home Business leads subscribe to your newsletter on your site, your autoresponder starts to send out the first message in the next minute... and it wil keep it that way for over the next few weeks. Your Home Business leads - by reading those emails - can make their decision whether they want to purchase your product or not, without feeling pushed at all. (Everybody likes buying not to be sold.) This methods are very suitable for those who have suffered a lot of rejections in their Network Marketing business; highly likely they will not experience the same like this. In Internet MLM people come to you and they ask for information, so they feel appreciated if you ever called them. This is the name of the MLM game in the 21st century. And why would you stick to a cheap car if you could have an Aston Martin?
