Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2010
Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2010

Well, what a Grand Prix that was last weekend!

A 3 hr delay following mayhem on the track after the torrential rain in Korea was only the beginning. Red Bull's Sebastien Vettel led for a long period before his engine blew up and earlier Mark Webber had crashed out in the wet conditions (tee hee).

Korea were hosting the event for the first time on their brand new track, and they left physically completing it until pretty much the last minute! The track features some very challenging tight bends and narrow straits, and as the rain lashed down it became immediately apparent that this race was going to be eventful in the extreme!

Unfortunately though, Fernando Alonso was at his best, and his victory means he now tops the drivers chart, closely followed by Britain's brilliant Lewis Hamilton who negotiated his way from his 4th position on the grid to an admirable second place finish. For him, the rain was a welcome sight, and his adroit ability in wet conditions was once again evident.

Jenson Button's title hopes are all but extinguished after his disappointing 12th place finish, but the McLaren team will feel they still have plenty to offer starting with Brazil this coming weekend and then finally, and quite possibly critically, at Abu Dhabi on 14 November.

I was lucky enough to visit Abu Dhabi this year and see the outstanding Yas Marina Circuit on Yas Island. The site is an absolute joy for petrol heads, especially given what's next door. Ferrari World will open on 27 October and provide an obvious attraction for those visiting for the Grand Prix.

This super park features the world's fastest rollercoaster (well, it is Ferrari after all) as well as over 20 other state of the art attractions it's a must for the whole family to enjoy with a mixture of G-force white knuckle tension and meandering family activities and a model Italy.

Now, quite often we'll report on happenings at the Grand Prix, but this year we've gone one step further and priced up a fantastic deal for the event.

This brilliant offer for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix 2010 is a once in a lifetime opportunity to visit, staying in a 5 star hotel in Dubai and the price includes all of your transfers to and from the circuit and seats in the Grand Stand for the whole weekend of racing!

So, go on, get yourself to Abu Dhabi for the climax of this exhilarating racing season!
