India's one of the leading mobile phone market leader, Micromax has recently announced that it will launch the new co-branded Micromax Modu T phone in India and the company will develop the new handsets with its exclusive partner, Isral-based Modu, which is also an Israeli mobile phone company. As per IDC India reports, Micromax ranked fourth in terms of sales during Jan-June, 2010 among the top five mobile handsets makers in the domestic mobile phone market. The new phone has been awarded a Guinness World Record for its lightest touchscreen mobile handset in the world. The new Micromax Modu-T comes with a 3.5G touch phone with a 2.2-inch screen.The company has officially disclosed the Price of new phone at Rs 12,500. The phone has loaded with additional memory backup which can be expanded up to 32GB. The new Micromax Modu-T will compete with the same price rang mobile handsets like LG KM500, Nokia 6700 Classic, Sony Ericsson K630i, Motorola A1600, Samsung SGHU800 Soul b and more. Vikas Jain, Business Director of Micromax said,"By bringing the modu T phone to India, we are targeting the aspirational segment of Indian consumers, who are the early adopters of technology and passionate about electronic gadgets. We expect a great response, especially during the festive season." The new Micromax Modu-T would be connected with Aircel connections, he added. Modu is also finding the potential for introducing tabled Pcs in the Indian mobile handsets market. "We are studying the Indian market for launching a tablet PC to extend our partnership with Micromax," Modu CEO and founder Dov Moran said. Presently, Micromax has a strong line of 40 mobile handsets in the country.
