Vodafone has planned the big launch in its third quarter i.e. somewhere between the month of January and March of 2011. The investment for this section is decided to be $500 million in the span of complete two years. With this plan, the company will be adding new horizon to its functionality. Sanjoy Mukerji, director, business operations in Vodafone stated that the company will add 3G functionality in the third quarter. The company officials showed their excitement of making this big launch soon. 10 circles will be included in its 3G technologies, including Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, West Bengal, Kolkata, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Mumbai, Chennai and Haryana. The company will get the technical support from the Nokia Siemens Networks and Ericsson as was desclaimed last week by the officials. This step was taken majorly to fight the growing competition in the field of 3G network technologies in Indian market. Two telecommunication majors, will provide Vodafone Essar with the 3G equipments. This is certainly going to give the network a support of high speed along with stand out performance. The company officials claimed that the company will surely strive for good coverage. 3G network is going to add new opportunities for the telecommunication companies as they can really add good tariffs on their 3G facilities. Talking about the market condition, the 3G market has two major players Bharti Airtel and Reliance Communications Ltd now along with the launch of Vodafone Essar, Tata Teleservices will also make an entry to this market and with this the competition is going to be real tough. Third generation services include many elements which the companies have to work for. It includes mobile Internet access, video call (which is rather going to be the biggest challenge), mobile television, and many more.
