Experience East Africa, its challenges and hopes, rolling dry mountains, and continuous warm sun. You'll be challenged in ways you haven't imagined. By the end of your trip you will have experienced a unique place and culture, and connected with people in ways that can contribute to their lives. You will combine service and learning with fun!

Highlights

Community Driven Service

Ensure people have access to clean water through the implementation of rain water harvesting systems

Assist with efforts to educate the community on sustainable agricultural techniques and care for the farm at the educational center

Develop sustainable technology, such as a solar food preservation system, or bio-diesel and wind energy

Work with a women's rights organization that ensures women have legal standing in court and the right to own property

Assist with the construction of a transitional children's home

Volunteer in a local hospital and learn about the HIV/AIDS epidemic

Cultural & Recreational Activities

Hike along mountainous trails through endless banana plantations

Attend and/or participate in soccer matches

Cross the Equator and shop for handmade crafts and batiks at local markets

Volunteering with partnering organizations that have been recognized for the profound value they contribute to the community by improving women's rights and helping farmers and others improve their livelihoods. Bring about lasting change for a better world.

Per person program fee, 6 or more: One week, from $850 - $950; Two weeks, from $1550 $1,750; Three weeks, from $2,050 $2,400.Program fees include meals, lodging, local transportation and traveler's insurance, some cultural & recreational activities, donations to community partner, and facilitation from our local site coordinator.
