The Haunted Blog
The Haunted Blog

The Haunted Blog- Well where do I begin? The whole Haunted Blog is a spin off from my business Extreme Ghost Hunting Limited. I decided to start The Haunted Blog so I could try and let people know about my business and all things haunted. The information will include which haunted castles, haunted hotels and other haunted locations I will be taking my business too. Along with this I will try to put on my blog all products related to haunted activities and the paranormal. This will range from haunted groups, haunted houses, haunted hotels, haunted happening, haunted weekends and tons of other haunted stuff.

I would also like to get other like minded people involved who have a love for all things haunted, paranormal and spooky. These will be discussions ranging from haunted books, haunted products through to paranormal stories and movies.

We will also be having blogs from my good friend The Psychic Biker and many other friends from the paranormal world. To get things going here is my first blog from my top 3 haunted locations.

In third place is Brougham Hall. Brougham Hall is situated near Penrith, Cumbria in England and is a place of much haunted history and ghost stories. Legend has it that there was once a curse that covered the Hall. This came about when a skull was found in the stonework during renovation and it was removed from its resting place. I asked the owner about the cursed skull. He had actually held the skull. The skull had three holes in the top which led to the thought it was that of a person who had been executed in some way. Whilst the skull was removed many strange things were happening at the Hall. One of which was the sighting of dark ghostly shadows. It was decided to replace the skull to where it was found. Since then the strange occurrences have reduced significantly.

Luckily or unluckily you may think, I had the chance to stay there as part of Extreme Ghost Hunting. The Extreme' difference being was that I was to be there myself. The beginning of the night was very strange and surreal. Sitting alone in a pitch black alcove looking over a moonlit Brougham Hall is not everyone's idea of a good night out. Add to this the bats, ghost stories and eerie silence and you can guess the hairs on the back of my neck were standing right up.

I spent some time in an arbour which stood beneath the Hall. Next to this arbour was a wooded area which led to the scene of one of the last battles on English soil. Groups who had stayed there in the past had heard horses, soldiers and the sounds of swords clashing. To be honest that would have been enough for me but it was not these stories that were crossing my mind. It was the ghostly shadows I could see moving around in the woods. Even when I moved to a different area to double check I wasn't going mad I could still see them. Being by myself (I wasn't scared, honestly) I decided to move to another area. This was not just any area though. It was the church with a small graveyard.

When I was younger you always heard stories about people daring each other to go through the graveyard alone. Well here I was with no money to be won, alone in a church graveyard in the middle of nowhere. If you have problems with your nerves, please do not try this in your local graveyard. My mind was a total mess. I was aware of a young girl hiding behind the trees. I say aware but can't explain this. Just had the feeling she was there and was frightened either about me or for me.

Although I have probably stayed at other locations with slightly more activity, Brougham Hall is a location that ranks as number 3 in the haunted ranks because of the way it managed to get into my head.
