How To Manually Install A Plugin On Your Blog

I am pretty new to blogging and so when i recently tried to automatically install a plugin on my blog and it would not, i was frustrated. In fact i was more than frustrated. I was angry. Angry that what i thought would be a quick fix turned out to last for hours ruining my whole schedule and leaving me running late on all my appointments and tasks for the day.

Fortunately enough, i asked this in the Wealthy Affiliate forum and just a day later, i had the whole issue resolved. This made me wonder just how many people struggle with blogging. We have all heard how blogging is the easiest way to make money online. However, what the experts forget to tell most people is that though you can make a lot of money blogging, you do require the necessary the knowledge on how to develop your blog, monetize it and most important how to send traffic to your blog.

Without this fundamental knowledge, i have to say that Blogging can turn out to be the most frustrating thing ever.So in light of this, i want to share your with you a little trick that i learned on how you can manually install a plugin if the auto method fails.

There is a manual install for WP plugins.

You need to save the plugin to your desktop, then unzip it (most are in a win-zip type of file)

When you unzip it it should create a folder with files for your plugin inside the folder. Do not rename or move anything.

Use a FTP program or your host's ftp file manager to connect with the folder your WP site is installed in.

You should see a folder wp-content

Inside wp-content is another folder for plugins, open that folder.

You should see folders within the plugin folder for all plugins you have installed.

You want to upload the folder with all the contents that was created when you unzipped it into that Plugins folder.

/wp-content/plugins/your new plugin folder

Then when you log back into your admin control of your WP site it should show as a plugin, just activate it.

Hope this was helpful.

Here's to your success!
