The Cockpit of a Flight Simulator is just like a Real Cockpit

A flight simulator cockpit is known as a simpits' It looks just like the real thing and has all the dials and controls replicated exactly from the real cockpit, were it be a commercial airliner such as a Boeing 747, a cargo plane, a Second World war plane like a Mustang or Spitfire, a modern military jet or helicopter or even the 1907 Wright Brothers aircraft. The only thing you must be aware of is that although all the cockpit controls are there, some don't function as they are unnecessary for the flight simulator. But you will find that in the simpits' the radio, instruments and controls are all in front of you so at least you get the feeling of being in the real cockpit.

The aviation industry has always actively used flight simulator software to train their pilots as it's so incredibly lifelike. The pilot sits there with the simpits in front of him and starts to learn all the dials and controls before he flies in the real thing. Initially he will be quite confused as you can imagine with such a vast array of instruments to learn but with practice he soon becomes accustomed to them, as you will too if your aim is either to buy a flight simulator just for the games or you want to teach yourself at home on your PC the familiarisation of a simpits before you join a flying school, if your intention is to learn to fly.

Most flight simulators have a working radio, giving them the ability to stay in touch with their instructor, or, just to receive commands from the instructor. So, you can see how simpits have a real ability to teach you every thing you need to know about flying a real plane, or, just give you the ability to experience a fantastic time flying your own plane at home on your PC.
