The Importance of Sleep for Women
The Importance of Sleep for Women

Studies show that women may use more of their actual brain than do men. This shows up in the multitasking they must perform each day as they run their lives and the lives of family members who rely on them. Consequently their need for sleep is greater and usually they get less than is healthy for them.

One way to counteract this is to nap during the day. Of course, you say, why didn't I think of that???? If you are a stay at home Mom, go down for a nap with the kids, no matter what you have left to do. It will be there when you wake up, refreshed. If you work, find a corner of the break room, put on a sleeping mask and curl up in a chair and empty your mind for a few minutes. Maybe you and the other women at work could create a break space with comfy chairs. Studies have proven that this will increase efficiency, so get the Boss onboard.

If you are a mighty multitasking woman', try removing some of the tasks from your mind memory and jot them down on a notepad. List your chores and duties, then you can let go of the worry that you might forget something. Making this list before you go to bed will allow you to drift off to sleep more easily. If you waken during the night, write down whatever you are thinking about, turn over and go back to sleep.

Having enough sleep is extremely important for your health, both mental and physical, and you will be happier and more efficient everyday.
