No matter whom you are or what age you are at, trampolines can be fun. There are so many different variations of trampolines as well as uses. To be considered a trampoline you must take a piece of fabric, usually something that will have a small amount of bounce when it is pulled tightly; then you get a bunch of coils and attach a coil to the fabric in an even pattern all the way around a steel frame. The coils are what give you the bounce. You want to make sure that the coils are strong and don't have too much give to them. If they have too much give or get stretched out you need to replace them.
Most people will of course buy a ready-made trampoline. You can find your standard exercise trampoline. These are typically only about two to three feet in diameter. They sit very low to the ground and are just used to give you that little bit of bounce. Then you could move up to the larger trampolines that your kids play on in the back yard. You can find these in a few different sizes, usually ranging anywhere from ten feet in diameter on up to about fourteen feet, although there are occasions where you can find them larger. These trampolines are about two and half feet to three feet off the ground and have quite a bit of bounce.
Now that trampolines have become more popular you can also find a cage-like trampoline accessory. This cage goes around the entire trampoline and helps prevent the kids from bouncing off of the trampoline and landing on the ground. It is a good idea to get one of these for your back yard trampoline especially if you have new jumpers or younger kids.
If you are more professional and want to get a trampoline for a business use, like for gymnastics, you can easily find these available in all sorts of sizes. Most of the time you can even find manufacturers that will customize a trampoline to fit your specifications and needs. Prices do range starting at about $25 for your cheapest indoor exercise trampoline and can get into the thousands; it just depends on what you need and how much you are willing to spend.
Trampolines are great for the kid in you who just wants to have fun, they are always a great workout, most of the time you don't even realize that you are working out all of your muscle groups. They are great for when you are learning how to do flips or stunts and don't want to have the worry of landing on a hard surface.
