Foursquare Chiropractic Marketing

With smart phone usage sky-rocketing, it's no surprise that Foursquare, the location-based social network, hit a million users this April. It exploded onto the scene in 2009 and it's growth thus far has been incredibly rapid. Local small businesses are finding this social network is getting them massive amounts of free exposure, too. Foursquare marketing for chiropractors in particular has numerous benefits.

The simple and basic concept of Foursquare is that you "check-in" at your favorite local businesses like cafes, museums, restaurants, and chiropractic offices! You can leave tips for others and reviews expressing your likes and dislikes. The more you visit different places, the more badges you collect. Once you check-in, immediately your friends on Facebook and Twitter are notified through the feed. This let's them know about your favorite places and where you are.

Here's a good example. Today, I checked-in at a local organic grocer and left a tip. When completed, my Foursquare, Facebook and Twitter feeds were updated so all of my friends could see where I was. Over 4,000 friends of mine were notified about this local organic grocery store and the tip I left to try the grilled salmon since it was excellent! This is priceless word of mouth exposure for this local business and now I've given the approval to thousands of friends.

For your chiropractic office, begin to encourage patients to check-in with Foursquare and give tips to their friends. You can even provide an incentive if your state chiropractic board allows it. Remember, the more people that check-in, the more popular your office will become, garnering free word of mouth exposure from patients. Hardly anyone is doing this because it's so new, yet it's so powerful.

Another great thing is that the Foursquare application for the iPhone is free. You can download it today and play around with the program. It's pretty simple to learn and not nearly as complex as Facebook can be. Once you start-up the application, you'll want to allow it to track your location to make it easier to check-in to certain places. Foursquare marketing for chiropractors this year will continue to get practices great exposure and local fame.
