Successful television shows almost always are recycled and the idea is used again in order to maintain momentum and borrow off of other shows' popularity. Although somewhat unoriginal, the point of these shows is to create a series that is almost without a doubt going to be successful for the first couple of episodes. Then it is up to the writers, actors, and creators to continue to hold the audience's attention. California has been a continually popular location for television series. Depending on your favorite kind of genre, it's very easy to get sucked in with the familiar plot lines you know and love. With satellite television you can have more options and access to the channels that provide you with the best shows and scenarios you continue to love.
Overwhelmingly, these ideas have to do with location. California beaches have made a huge splash in popular primetime and premium series. It all seemed to start with Bay Watch, a series that demonstrated the sexual and cultural attraction to Californians. For natives to California this was just a reiteration and augmentation of what they had already known and love about their state. However, for those not living on the beaches of California, this made the West coast seem even more glamorous, with beautiful people, weather, and a culture that promoted beach bums.
Our interest continued with other popular shows such as 90210. The series maintained a different story line but the same beautiful people and beaches. Now the audience was integrated into the chaotic and exciting life of a California high school student. Always dramatic, but overwhelmingly with a positive message, each show increased the audiences desire to give up cold weather and just move to California. Simultaneously Melrose Place appeared on the scene, which went even further to stress scandal. Morality probably wasn't one of the biggest themes on this show, but the entertainment sure made a splash.
Presently, both of these shows have been re-done and in the past year have re-entered primetime television with mainly new actors, but of course with modern twists. The popularity with younger generations who were probably only familiar with the original shows by name proves that maybe it's not the idea behind 90210 or Melrose Place, but the fantastic setting in which it takes place. Prior to the re-making of these two older shows, The O.C. was an extremely popular show, with more or less the same ideas behind it, except definitely more scandalous.
Although all of these series take place in California they're unique in their characters, the shows' reputations, and the different generations that they've been modified to attract. With satellite television you're offered access to these channels and many more that give you your California fix. Premium channels also offer shows that have this same location, such as Californiacation. Get better options with packages that encompass local and premium channels for lower prices. Satellite television offers you the solution to boring, experience television with better quality and more channels.
