Although organisations were the main owners of websites, the trend has shifted, to include celebrities, freelance workers, students and mothers. Blog websites have made owning a website so easy that anyone can have a site within minutes.

Your website is an extension of your business or your person. But a website is more than just an extension of yourself, it is also a way for you to connect with the visitor, offering them useful information and a reason to come back to your site. Website are designed: To inform people about who you are; to tell people about your product; offer people a solution to their problem; to offer people your contact details.
Web pages design is about achieving your objectives by making the web pages, attractive to the personal entering into your site. By attractive I am mean user friendly, simple, and facilitate communication between you and the reader.

There are many aspects which go into design of web pages design. Here are the 3 which I find most important.
Web page layout
The web pages need to be laid out simply and logically. The reader need s to be able to navigate and rapidly access the information that is relevant to them. If they cannot get to basic information quickly such as price and retail outlets, they will leave your web site as quickly as they entered.
Colour
Colour is so important we even have colour therapy! Use the science of colour therapy to trigger certain responses in your reader. However you should find a way to incorporate it with the colours associated with the business logo. If you have not yet chose the your logo, do so carefully and then be consistent with using that colour in all the business communications, especially your web pages design.
Web page fonts
Fonts are the style of lettering used for the writing on your web site. Firstly you need to make sure that the font you want to use is browser compatible. If not the personal reading your site may not be able to see the font. Secondly you need to choose a font which matches the personality of your company or product. A beautiful French style script will not work well for a financial business. A web page design will usually incorporate more than one type of font, but make sure that it works with the web page design.
There are many other important aspects of web pages design such as pictures and content. However these which I have mentioned are the most important elements of an effective, attractive web page design. Most importantly, learn to keep it simple. The simpler and easier to navigate the web site, the better for the reader.
