I have a set of these mounting brackets bolted to my garage workbench and can always count on finding my Maglite flashlight just where I left it - safe and secure. The plastic seems a bit fragile, but in the two years that I have used them, I have never had a failure. The flashlight securely snaps into place and is not in danger of falling out.
If I were to do it again, I'd buy a set of these in a minute. It functions well and does the job for which it was intended.
The price at Amazon makes it a no-brainer purchase to go along with your Maglite. I've installed three of these around the house. After six months of active use, I have not observed any signs of cracking or yielding in the plastic.
A few reviewers have mentioned that they have managed to break a few of these, and this might be caused by improper installation. It is imperative that, when using two clips for a flashlight, that they are perfectly aligned. If they are out of line by even a few millimeters they will require much more force to place and remove the flashlight. Alternatively, using just one clip for at least the 3 cell lights seems to work just fine as well.
Overall, I am satisfied with this product and consider it to be a good value at the advertised price.
I had these installed on the dash of my old SUV - stupid me! Forgot to take them off when I sold the car! When you drive at night, especially in snowy, blizzard conditions, you don't want to be fumbling for your 4d MagLite when something happens! My Mag Flashlight has come in handy so many times I recommend everyone to have one within hands reach "just in case". For this price, you can't go wrong!! Seen it some stores for almost 4x this price!!
great bracket for the light. put it in my truck and the bracket has not dropped my light yet. I do some really hard off-roading and the light stays in the mounting bracket.
