It is probably fair to say, that within the industry itself, Tracpipe is being heralded and much talked about and if you take a few moments to read through its features, stats and information, it's not difficult to see why.

Tracpipe CCST originated in Japan over 35 years ago before production started in the United States and is now manufactured in the UK, exclusively by Omegaflex in the United States and distributed throughout Europe around by them and indeed other localised distributors.

Tracpipe itself is a "stainless steel, semi rigid" gas piping, usually installed between a meter and an appliance. Quickly becoming established as an industry favourite and popular alternative to the perhaps more well known rigid steel and copper piping, it is appropriate for propane, butane and indeed natural gas.

This relatively new (to Europe at least) industry favourite is quickly establishing itself, especially amongst those that have the hands on job of working with it. Tracpipe is BSi Kitemarked to British Standard BS7838.

Apparently, Tracpipe now enjoys a 35% share of the American gas pipe market and before it landed in America, enjoyed a successful period in Japan.

So, what are some of the key benefits of this piping and how are improvements seen during the installation process? Let's take a quick look:

It is apparently better suited to ground settlement and is much more versatile than copper and steel piping. The pipe can be cut with standard tube cutters and doesn't require heat to be manipulated, so no welding or soldering required and none of the heat, smoke and fumes associated.
