Their are three major steps to becoming a pro at Starcraft 2.
Each of these steps ought to be taken to achieve maximum efficiency of increasing your skill level.
I pick one night a week where I go through this drill three or four times, I find it super helpful.
I have definitely seen much improvement since I've begun practicing.
Step 1) The first step is to watch a replay by a skilled player. I like to do this before I play because I find it inspires me to play even better. It is a good tool to get yourself thinking outside of the box a little bit in terms of how you usually play.
Step 2) Now you should actually go out and play a solo game. Here is where you can use whatever knowledge you've gained from the replay you just watched in real-time. Try your best but always remember Starcraft 2 is about having fun.
Step 3) After I've done the first two steps, I will then watch my game whether I won or lost. I'll try and critique myself, make mental notes about what would have worked easier for me. I like to write these down and glance at them before I play my next match.
Once you've done these three steps all you need to do is rinse, wash, and repeat. Try to get through at least two of these cycles once a week and you'll start to see an improvement in no time I promise!
As I like to talk about I have had a very tough time learning Zerg but I've earned my way up to the Diamond ladder.
Zerg are a very difficult race in that they require a delicate balance of workers/units that takes a lot of time to master.
All of the races have their difficult aspects to master, or even learn a little bit...
