Those who claim to be true "morning" people are typically still reliant on their alarm clocks and morning coffee to get them moving every day. If you know a guy who has a hard time getting out of bed in the morning (or if you could us some help yourself), you will love this little discovery one of MyGuys came across earlier this month.
Chrome Clocky by Nanda Home Inc is a fun, innovative little creation that we have found to be amusing and genuinely useful. Chrome Clocky allows you to snooze from 0-9 minutes, hops off of the night stand and "hides" from you as soon as your time is up. This forces you up and out of bed, and starts the day with a fun little game.
After reading a number of different reviews and watching a few videos, we just had to purchase one ourselves. Conversations of Clocky and JoeBot becoming friends circulated the office as we waited for our new friend to arrive.
The day that we received Clocky, we decided that the first thing that needed to be done was name our new buddy. We let him roam around the office, beeping and lovingly bumping into walls, chairs, and our ankles. He sounds a bit like a confused or delirious R2D2, and his movements are quite sporadic.
After throwing around hundreds of names, one stuck; TrundleTron. Yes, we are geeks and consulted the thesaurus. For some time dear little TrudleTron would be set for random times throughout the day, and provides a good excuse to sit back, laugh and chase his cute little TrundleTron body around the room and down the hall.
After about two weeks of fun I decided to see how waking to TrundleTron really was. I had already developed a "relationship" with the little gadget, but I am not much of a morning person so I was slightly fearful for his little robot life.
Monday morning, 7am, I heard a familiar panicked R2D2 sound and briefly thought that I had fallen asleep on the job. After coming to my senses, I reached over and hit the snooze button, the excitement building for what was coming next. I had set the snooze for only two minutes and felt like a kid . Finally, a single beep. Followed by a loud thump. TrundleTron was on the run.
I still felt slightly drowsy but couldn't help but laugh as Trundle seemed to be running away from me. He really didn't want me to shut him off. I got to him about a minute after he had finished snoozing, shut him off, and got ready for work with a smile on my face.
I do realize that my experience with the Chrome Clocky I had bonded with is bound to be different than anyone with a new clock, but I have no doubt that Chrome Clocky will wake you, get you out of bed, and quite possibly win your heart.
