If you are seeking ways to relax, meditation may be one of the viable options because it offers a wide spectrum of tools and techniques that can help the practitioners achieve a peace of mind. In fact, many people seldom have a peace of mind if they are troubled with the challenges at work or family. This inevitably leads to a built up of stress which may manifest as a physical ailment in the long run. Thus, regular meditation can be a panacea to stress-related problems if one practices it appropriately.
However, the question that one might have is, "Which is the best form of meditation technique to adopt as there are many ways to relax via meditation?" The truth is there is no ideal form. But the form of meditation that suits you the best by bringing the greatest degrees of relaxation should be adopted regularly. In this article, I would like to suggest two forms of meditation techniques that can be easily incorporated into our daily lives.
The first form of meditation I would suggest as one of the ways to relax is breathing meditation. Below are its guidelines:
1.Find a quiet place to sit peacefully for 15 minutes.
2.Shut your eyelids to minimize distractions from the external world.
3.Take a deep breath followed by breathing out. After breathing out, count "1" silently to yourself.
4.Repeat steps 3 and count "2".
5.Keep doing this till you reach "10". Upon counting up to "10", reverse the process till you reach count "1" again.
6.Keep this practice throughout the course of meditation. But, if you have lost count, simply do not worry but return to count "1".
Secondly, I would introduce walking meditation as one of the many ways to relax. The marvelous aspect of walking meditation is that it can be practiced anywhere that allows an individual to walk peacefully without much distraction. Below are the simple steps to practice it:
1.Adopt a comfortable standing posture.
2.Inhale and exhale deeply for several times to release any discomfort felt in your body. In addition keep your facial muscles relax by smiling.
3.Then, match your breaths with your steps. It's good to match an inhaled breath with one foot and an exhaled breath with the other.
4.Keep walking slowly without having a destination in mind by focusing just in the present moment.
