YMC Clothing
YMC Clothing

YMC started out in 1995 by Fraser Moss and Jimmy Collins, they wanted to produce Stylish, Functional, Modern Clothing. YMC actually stands for You Must Create, deriving from graphic artist Raymond Loewy who stated 'You must create your own design style'. Those words of wisdom were followed by Moss and Collins and YMC has grown into one of the coolest labels around and is stocked in the best clothing stores and online stores across the UK and other parts of the world.

Season after season the YMC collection comprises of Jackets, Shirts, Jumpers, T Shirts, Trousers, Footwear, Accessories and more, all of which is designed with style and functionality in mind. Jackets and Shirts are inspired by workwear and other forms of practical clothing from different walks of life and time periods which makes it evermore wearable today.

Since the launch in 1995 many clothing brands have come in and out of fashion, some stay around for a year or two, some for only months or even weeks as the fashion fads of the trendys can soon be in and out. YMC however have managed to establish themselves as a brand rather than a look and now 16 years later the stylish dressers who appreciate quality and design still want to buy YMC.

YMC do both mens and womens clothing but the menswear side in the stronger arm of the business so its's more trousers, shirts and jackets being produced than dresses, skirts and blouses.

YMC mens clothing is popular with various types of males who are into clothes. The brand appeals to the smart stylish trendy lad about town who might wear jeans or chinos rolled up with a pair of vans or sperry deck shoes. Another type of man that likes YMC is the football going casual, the type who would once have worn Stone Island, Armani, Burberry and CP company etc and now wants a more discreet look but still one which give him a functionally jacket and what is stylish so he can team it up on matchday with his dark selvage jeans and favourite pair of vintage adidas trainers.

As the demand for the brand has grown YMC opened their second store last year in London, this time in the up and coming spitalfields area where the likes of Folk, Albam, Barbour, Fred Perry and many more have opened stores.

Other than their own stores YMC is stocked in first class UK stores including Selfridges, Oipolloi, The End, HIP, Not Addicted, Coggles, ASOS, My Wardrobe and Glass Boutique to name just a few. The brand must be seen as one of the best clothing brands around at the minute for shops of this calibre to be stocking it.

I'm sure YMC will be around for at least another 16 years to come at least especially now they have the backing of fashion giant French Connection who have been a major force in the fashion clothing industry since 1972.

So whether youve been a YMC fan since day one in 1995 of youve never come across the brand before it's worth a look at if youre into your clothes.
