But some experts in the filed also say that the chances of tablets replacing laptops or desktops are not immediate. But at the same time tablets are becoming an alternative for laptops. Those who want to be online and connected always might go for tablets.

It is also speculated that when people's attention turn from laptops and desktops, the companies will surely fight for the market share. New models are expected to offer business solutions in a faster and easier way when compared to the old ones. The competition will also increase the quality of service offered by these companies as end-users can switch products because of the numerous options available in the market.

A new research has also revealed that the sales of personal computers will suffer in the current year and the following year due to the popularity of tablets. According to this research total of 54 million tablets are expected to be bought this year and the sales of PC is expected to be less than 10% till the year 2015. The prediction before the launch of tablets says that the sales of PCs will go up to 15.9% in 2011 compared to 2010. It indicates that consumers now will consider PCs as only the second option.

With Apple introducing iPad 2 in a sleek model with many apps, desktops are to take a back seat in the coming years. Apart from personal uses on these tablets, offices should also be keeping up with the advancement in technology. Instead of prohibiting the usage of new gadgets in offices, it is a challenge, now, for them to think how they can let these new gadgets safely inside.
