There have been many programs who have not given a true picture of Mediumship and spiritualism. In today's society and because the science of mediumship still remains to the masses largely unproven, coupled with the fact the industry is not regulated, mediumship is ridiculed, and mediums are out on trial. Mediumship is a part of peoples religious beliefs and the spirit world does indeed exist, but the media portray this area of life in a entertaining and fantastical way using old stereotypes and incorrect depictions.
People get spirituality and spiritualism mixed up. Basically to be spiritual is to know that you are of spirit and have an awareness that the physical is simply a shell wrapped around us so we may live on the mortal plain and learn the life lessons while here. People can live a spiritual life which will be full of love, compassion, respect for their surroundings and other people and often include spiritual practices such as meditation, channelling etc.

It is me personal view that the spiritualist church movement needs a marketing injection and re-positioning so that it becomes appealing to the masses. Mediumship should keep up with consumer demands and place itself in any modern venue in which people will gather to witness this great magic.
