Do you remember how fast your computer was when you first got it? Do you wish it was still running fast today? Well, over time, errors occur, programs begin to freeze up, viruses damage the computer, and the system slows down.

This happens to everyone and no computer is completely immune to it. But instead of going out and purchasing a brand new computer, you can easily get your current one repaired and running like new again with the right software and without spending a ton of money. However, it is very important to spend time when choosing speed up computer software to ensure you are getting something that does exactly what you need it to do.

To make your computer faster at startup, first of all, please open System Properties ( right click My Computer to select Properties), and then click "Advanced" tab, go to "Settings" within "Startup and Recovery" option, and then cancel the default checking of the two options within "System Startup". But if you are using multiple-systems, please do not uncheck the option "Time to display list of operating system".

After the above settings, please return to "Hardware" and then "Device Manager" to open "IDE ATA/ ATAPI Controller". Here, please double click to open "Secondary IDE Channel"->go to Advanced Settings -> change the transfer mode of Device 1 and 2 to "DMA if available" ->change the Device Type to None if you can ->click OK to save your settings. Then, please set the Primary IDE channel with the above methods.

Don't keep many programs open at the same time: This also includes the number of tabs you open at the same time in your browser. Try to avoid keeping more than 3 tabs or windows open in your browser at the same time.

Uninstall the unused programs from the system by going to Add or Remove Programs. It will help in saving the disk space used for programs.

Delete the temporary files of the system. One can use a Disk Cleanup to delete all the temporary files stored in the computer system. It will surely increase the system's speed.

Use a good registry cleaner which will keep your registry free of junk files: A good registry will usually speed up your computer by 30-50%. Whereas a bad registry cleaner might make your computer slower and even make some programs dysfunctional. Experts have also warned against free registry cleaners since most of them contain Spywares and Trojans in them which gives away all your browsing history to promoters without you knowing about them. So go ahead and get the best registry cleaner available in the market if other tips didn't help you much.
