Google Panda helps White Hat SEO

Google is in these months of rolling out an update to their algorithm, called Panda.

Google Panda is a part of Google's plan to make 2011 Spam fighting year. The goal for Google is to eliminate sites with low quality, certainly with the ulterior motive, if the user does not find relevant results on Google, then why use the search engine?

The first part of the update was rolled out in the U.S. in February and amended according to Google 12% of search results. Yesterday rollout so to all English-speaking sginger which means that in Denmark we also get to experience update.

Google said of course nothing about what elements they actually update their algorithm, so nobody can say with certainty what the change really is. The only thing we can do is observe and organized, and from this continually getting smarter and smarter Google's algorithm.

The observations so far have been many, and Google itself has in fact unveiled one of the elements they are looking at:

Personal Block List (Extension for Google Chrome)

Google says that they do not use the list to manually remove the value, but to ensure that their algorithm works as it should. So in cases where there is massive blocks from users, and Google believes that data are credible, they change the algorithm.

Others believe that Google uses Analytics data, Google Webmaster tools to calculate a page's bounce rate.

For companies working with White Hat SEO (search engine optimization using Google Guidelines), this update is very welcome, since it seeks to remove value from Web pages without high quality (read: relevant content).

White hat SEO is basically about everything SEO work must create value for the user, defined from Google Guidelines. Websites with the sole purpose to be link farms, or low-quality article databases, everything else being equal, not much value for users, and in and with the loss of a portion of their value in this update will disappear link value from these websites too.

So hopefully we canget SEO to a greater extent, to act on relevant content and relevant links.
