The previous reviewer said that these are the same as Sears - they are not! The Sears ones are made by Dorcy and do not have the same shock tolerance as the dewalt bulbs. I know - I was suckered into the Sears bulbs and killed all of them (4) where I normally can go a long time with the Dewalt. They regularly tolerate shocks from the flashlight tipping. The sears ones blow everytime! Maybe I got a bad batch, but Ill never buy the Sears ones again!
Even though these are DeWalt light bulbs, I have successfully used them to replace Ryobi and Sears 18v light bulbs that come in the handheld lights you get in the rechargeable toolkits. If you drop a lamp, the bulb will tend to go (although they take a decent amount of punishment beforehand). I highly recommend keeping a few on hand. They are very bright and can fill a room with light.
I got these for my Porter Cable PC18FL, a pivoting head 18V flashlight. The original bulbs are krypton. These are xenon so they burn considerably brighter and hotter than krypton. The problem is, they melted the plastic bulb holder in the flashlight. The bulb holder only cost 91 cents but good luck trying to find someone who will ship for less than $10.
I am looking for a small flashlight replacement bulb 18 volts but it must have a screw thread in order to replace the one I had for a small lantern.
For Makita owners, I can confirm that this bulb does work in the Makita 18V flashlight, and it seems just as bright as the original Makita bulb.
I have been looking for relatively affordable replacement bulbs for a Ryobi 18V rechargeable flashlight. It's literally impossible to find a real Ryobi product, but I read, in another review, that these work in the Ryobi. They do, indeed. I haven't used any of these for any time at all, but i did verify that they work in the Ryobi, and I'm thrilled to have some replacements now. The original bulb burned out almost immediately, and they replaced it 'under warranty', but I was concerned about he fragility of the OEM bulbs. Glad to have found a replacement such that the flashlight will have a use if another bulb fails.
