Samsung invaded the online world by proudly offering their little known Bada operating system. Apparently, Bada is an operating system developed by Samsung Electronics, which is aimed at low or mid-ranged smart phones. It can also be used on higher end smart phones that are fully featured.

Samsung Bada is a smart phone platform with a name originating from the Korean word for ocean and seashore. It offers innovation as well as a wide range of possibilities and developing prospects. Samsung claims the platform is to be a huge success in the smartphone market because it enables developers to expand their application projects. Basically what they aim to do is create a smartphone for the regular guy. So far it seems like Bada-based phones are, in fact, a success and are boosting the flourishing Samsung application store.

The main features of Bada operating system are that it provides graphics, telephony as well as security. There are many service-centric features that are included in this operating system such as mapping, in-app-purchasing and social networking sites. All these features are provided by Bada Server. There is also a unique feature especially for developers it is the application programming interface or API for use by application developers and programmers.

Apart from the above, there are many other enhanced sensing features such as vibration control, motion sensing, accelerometer, face detection, magnetometer, GPS and tilt. It supports multi-point touch, tabbed browsing, pinch-to-zoom and cut-copy-paste features as well. This allows ease in use and offers convenience.

The Samsung Bada mobile operating system is said to utilize hardware power for a spectacular app experience. The main thing is that Bada aims to do this for the low-cost smartphones. If the world's second best tech company Samsung succeeds with this project it will create a never before seen handsets market for the working-class folk. Moreover, Bada offers, for example, an enhanced user interface, Flash support and in general a more interactive user experience. To further develop the platform, Samsung has added apps downloading and installing opportunities.

That being said, Samsung will turn out to be the father of a sub $200 well-designed touchscreen smartphones like the Corby and Star. Even though Samsung Bada is not even close to taking on the iOS, it would sure be an eye-pleaser to see how Apple can top their competition and fit their mobile operating system into such a budget. To continue with, a great advantage of the Bada operating system might as well be the huge applications market, which is currently filled with billions of apps.

On the other hand, the audience certainly cannot go without criticizing something as new as the Bada operating system. Some of its flaws are said to be the lack of multitasking in application use, the excessive "performance and privacy issues" and the not open-ended API external sensor. However, despite having all of these flaws the Samsung Wave S8500, which was the first Bada-based mobile phone, was still a success.

All things considered, what is happening to the smartphone market is certainly thrilling and interesting. It is fair to say that a great part of the excitement is due to the new Samsung Bada operating system. Despite receiving criticism and most of all skepticism, it is important to remember that the disputed mobile operating system is only a little child, being released in the middle of 2010, and one can say there are many things to be expected from Samsung's innovative platform. Despite the domination of Android, it seems like the Bada operating system will have a shot at some deals as it is definitely an interesting alternative.
