There were screenshots. There was video. There was even a picture of the PSP 1000 is sitting beside a UMD with 'Gran Turismo' on it. So why has it taken five years for the damn thing to finally be shown on Sony's handheld?

The new game has 800 cars and 45 tracks. Impressive figures, although some cars are different only in name (like 5 versions of the Hyundai Coupe / Tiberion) and some trace mere alternative routes around the same course as Suzuka's east and west variations.You can also run in reverse to get more life out of the game. Duplicates or no, it's confusing when you are actually presented with the choice.
The game is almost identical to the PS2 Gran Turismo titles in terms of style and sense of movement and you'll probably know it means quality. Get Sims manages to make every car feel unique, but the GT pulls it off just as convincing on the PSP as it does on the PS2 or PS3.
The depth of the simulation indicates that the G-forces (no, not guinea pigs) is shifting as you take turns, brake or accelerator gun. You would not believe a handheld racing could really convey the feeling of steering a super powerful car around racetracks or through narrow back streets, but the PSP handles it with aplomb. At 60fps, the simulation of driving never compromise, and the faster cars are simply a pleasure to drive.
