Write About What You Know
You must undertake this step even if you are assured at writing. In reality, it is so valuable that you do it before you have a go at your own newsletter that I have to issue the following notice....

I trust this makes it apparent to you how important this step is. It s like learning to swim. You would not become skilled at the butterfly before the doggy paddle, would you? You would not dive in the deep end of the immense pool before you have sampled the baby pool, would you?
If you did, you would not give the mind time to learn everything right. You would just discover bits and bobs here and there. You would develop into a survival swimmer, not a skilled, pace swimmer. Can you see the significance to writing with my illustration? Good.
So, where do you start when writing about what you know?
Easy;
1.Start by writing the central topic at the top of the page as a title.
2 Split this theme up into about ten sub topics, which relate to the most important topic in question.
3.Split each of those into roughly ten sub/sub topics. (It does not have to be exactly ten, this is just a rough ballpark figure.)
4.Get yourself a pack of 3 x 5 indexing cards. (You can buy these from most office suppliers.) Then write each sub/sub topic on a separate card. You can now place these cards in some sort of order so you can see whether or not it looks reasonable. You might want to swap the order or you might want to change a few of the headings, just go by your instincts and you will end up with a complete plan of your publication!
5.Write about each sub/sub topic, in your own time of course. Page by page, your publication will start to take affect.
6.As soon as you have finished your publication, leave it for a few days in a draw. A week is best.
7.Now go back to it and read it to yourself. See if it makes sense.
8.Add some more information if needed.
9.Ask yourself this question. Would the content of my publication lend itself to becoming a newsletter? Or might I make the content of my publication lend itself to becoming a newsletter?
10.Then ask yourself this question. Would sufficient people be interested in my theme to be able to make a lot of money?
You can use this method to create anything. From a straightforward guide to a novel. From a tips booklet to a 400 page handbook. There is no limit to what you can do by using this method. What I am trying to understand you to see is how you can turn your unique expertise into a hard cash producing newsletter.
This way of writing is so simple, it is? Yet this is exactly how writers do it. I have told you before that after you know the tricks to writing, you will not be able to finish. Well it is true.
Now you are eager to write a newsletter! Excited or what?
By now you must have developed your writing skills to the time where you can now with certainty dive into the deep end (Metaphorically speaking, of course!) and write a knock them dead newsletter. You have a load of information at your fingertips to use as content, the next factor you need to know is how to construct your newsletter for maximum readership......
