The Jolly Sailor, Orford
The Jolly Sailor is a remarkable venue - combining a 16th Century inn, restaurant, accommodations, big garden and even an art gallery all together in one place! It is alleged that the building was made from wrecked ship"s timbers, and the pub had a reputation as a smuggler"s haunt. This marvellous building dates back to the 16th Century and is believed to have originally been built into the walls of Orford Castle. Spectacular views of the castle can be seen from some of the 18 en suite bedrooms available, which are all tastefully decorated and very reasonably priced. The Trinity restaurant serves simple yet delicious food made from local produce. This well-respected restaurant has been awarded 2 AA rosettes and has an extensive wine list.
