Desktop computers can have several advantages compared to a laptop:

They are available at low prices while laptop parts are more delicate and expensive. Moreover, desktop repairing professionals are available in large numbers and you can get your PC repaired or upgraded more easily than your laptop.

All computer cabinets leave space for expansion slots. These expansion slots can easily accommodate your customization needs. Technology changes fast in the computer world and you need to upgrade your computer from time to time. This type of flexibility is hardly available with the laptops.
3. Fast assembling and disassembly
Computers are easier to assemble and disassemble than laptops. PCs are not as delicate as laptops and thus do not require sophisticated handling as laptops do. They need less time in assembling and disassembling by a hardware expert.
4. Easy add-ons or replacement
Computer is a device in which addition of components and accessories is more convenient than in laptops. You can easily extend your hard drive's capacity or computer memory. In laptops, these features are difficult to attain.

Many people would bat in favor of laptops because of their capacity of working on Rechargeable Batteries. But they are not aware of the fact that due to these batteries, a laptop is left with less space to release heat. On the other hand, computers have more space to remove heat.
One more important reason of desktop's sustenance lies in their manufacturing companies. Most of the leading desktop manufacturing companies have only entered the mobile PC manufacture segment. While these companies want to sell their laptops at premium rates, they don't want to lose their huge market of desktops. Leading laptop brands like Apple, Lenovo and HP are also the leading manufacturer of desktops. They have sizeable revenue from their desktop sales. Thus, desktop computers are going to sustain in the marketplace and continue to be a popular choice of a large number of people in the coming years too. However, the number of laptop users is also going to grow simultaneously but it's unlikely that we are going to see office complexes with laptops instead of fixed computers.
