Design your Corporate Videos based on the Target Audience

Many people are of the opinion that the objective of a corporate video is to increase the sales of the products and the services provided by the company. This is of course true to a certain extent. But the objective of the company video will not just be to increase the sales of the company. An increase in sales will be the end result if the company continues to work towards the objective. The objective of a particular video will usually be little more detailed and specific, and will be related to the type of event for which the video has been produced.

There are a number of events or reasons for which video promotional activity will be taken up by a company. A video might be for a trade show that is going to take place in the near future, or it might be for providing training to the end users for using a product, or the video can even also be used as a customer retention tool.

Based on the target event, the company has to set the objective for the video. The way the message will be delivered to the target audience will also be different. There are different ways of showing a video to the target audience. The company can make use of video-casting to deliver the message. In video-casting the promotional video will be recorded and streamed to the audience over the internet. Another mode of communication is podcasting, where multiple videos are released in a series.

Another important thing to note is the nature of the target audience. The business should be very clear of the target audience and come up with an appropriate video satisfying the needs of the target audience. If the target audience is going to be in the age group of 15 to 25, then the video can be catchy and need not be conservative. Though people of all ages browse the web, the target audience who are going to buy certain products will be in this age group. The video should have a viral effect'. A viral effect is nothing but a video that is interesting enough to be shared by viewers, so the video begins to get views through word of mouth.

All these live event videos, exhibition videos and presentation videos should be stored in a common repository within the company's intranet, so that this will become a reference for future production projects and the brand message can remain clear.
