Protect your Dream "The Pursuit of Happiness" (2)

Chris Gardner, the hero in this film: "the pursuit of Happiness" experienced a difficult time before being success in his career and his life as well. In the first part, I had talked about the first part of his life and also the first job- being a salesman of a bone-density scanner, who spent all his savings buying a wall of this unnecessary luxury machine but without selling out one of them. He seemed to be a completely loser in life and career though he had his great dream and also the strong mind to pursuit it.

Life would be never the same bad to a person like Chris Gardner. Then changes came.

Part 2: stockbroker

Then there was a day when Christ shouldered his scanner to visit a customer, walking across a financial office building, a man of his age in a cool red sports care parked in the front of him, ready to insert his card into the parking charge without thinking, prepare to work in this building. Christ asked with envy:

Chris Gardner: "Man, I got two questions for you: What do you do? And how do you do it?

Man: I'm a stockbroker."

Chris Gardner: "Stockbroker. Oh, goodness. Had to go to college to be a stockbroker, huh?"

Man: "You don't have to. Have to be good with numbers and good with people. That's it."

Chris Gardner (monologue): "I still remember that moment. They all looked so damn happy to me. Why couldn't I look like that?"

Just such a common morning this raised the waves in Chris's heart. He cannot accept such a commonplace life with shouldering a heavy unnecessary luxury machine which would not like to be sold out. Christ moved watching those happy lives of the people in this building, which is what he wants so much though he only had a high school graduation. The words of the stockbroker of being sensitive to numbers and good at working with people, but no need of the college degree set a light for Christ that he decided to pursuit his dream. But how could he get this dream job? Then, there began a life of getting this job.
