However it is amazing how many doomed marriages are saved if the couple really wants to save the marriage. Sometimes couples just drift apart without any real reason, more by default. In other cases one person will blame the other for a certain problem, drinking , financial problems that put them under stress, working long hours and not spending enough time with the family etc.
Think about why your marriage is not working. If you feel there are areas that you need to change your behavior then those are the things she is going to want to see changed before you talk about getting together.
It is best if you try and focus on yourself and the changes you need to make before you contact her. Everybody gets tired of hearing promises, especially if you have had this issue over a long time.

Although you want to talk to her, by leaving her alone and giving her space you are going to have a better chance of getting your wife back. She needs to see that you are coping, moving on with your life, then and only then is she going to think about how much she once loved you and perhaps a second chance is not a bad thing.
