In October of 2010, a new website opened its doors with the intention of providing fancy and high quality dog bows to the public. Dog Bows by Maude had it's humble beginnings in the late 1990's when it's founder sought a fashionable way to style her Shih Tzu's hair. "I spent a great deal of time trying to find a bow for my little dog that would keep the hair out of her eyes" says Maude, the founder of Dog Bows by Maude. "I was looking for something that was very elegant and beautiful, but not in a tacky or gaudy way."After purchasing several different bows online, Maude was not satisfied with what was being offered. When shecould not find a bow that she really liked, she decided to do a little experimenting. Having always been artistic, Maude found that making dog bows would prove to be avery exciting outlet.
It was the need for something different that gave birth to Dog Bows by Maude. Through the use of delicate ruffled and beaded laces, combined with various satin ribbon, Maude is able to create a bow that is perfect for any long haired dog. "It's amazing that this went from makingbows for my own dog, to selling them on ebay, then having my own website."
