One of the major industries to implement this green technology is the automobile industry. It is a highly polluting industry and one which needed to get serious very quickly due to two reasons; one was that it was polluting the air with emissions; the other was that it was using precious non renewable fuel sources. The most successful form of green tech that has been used here is the hybrid motor. Hybrid motors are the most efficient forms of transportation after self propelled vehicles. They have become very popular and many main stream car manufacturers have products which use them. A hybrid car is basically a combination of two different types of drive trains. It involves the use of both the internal combustion engine and the hybrid electric battery.
The hybrid motor is essentially an electric motor which can get its power from either the normal engine or a hybrid electric battery. Some of the main components here include the engine, the fuel tank, the generator, the electric motor and the fuel cells or batteries. The hybrid car runs on both these forms of energy. This is because it is not always possible to run on electric power since the hybrid batteries require charging. Our current infrastructure does not provide for this at regular intervals. The fuel cells or the hybrid battery is made up of chemicals which can store the energy which is generated and transferred to it and put it out in an efficient and linear manner. This ensures that the efficiency of the car increases manifold and the emissions gone down drastically. The hybrid technology has come of age in the recent past decade.
The basic advantage of a hybrid is that is a very clean and economical car. Today, with the prices of fuels going sky high and the issue of global warming, such a car is a very attractive alternative. It saves on fuel a lot and it also gives the user the choice of switching from the conventional engine to the hybrid car motor. This makes it very cost effective, gives more for the gallon and reduces emissions tremendously making it a very green option. It has a very small carbon foot print as is popularly called making it safe for the environment in the long run.
