Between now and July there are many games coming out, we count down the five best coming in the next three months.
First, there are more than five great games coming soon so here are a few honourable mentions to those who didn't make the list:
LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean A continuation of Telltale's Games famous LEGO game series, worth checking out if you are a LEGO game fan or a Pirates fan, even more so if you are both!
Operation Flashpoint: Red River A sequel to Dragon Rising, with many a lesson learnt from its predecessor maybe it is Operation Flashpoint's time to shine.
Mortal Kombat With almost two decades passing since the original, hopefully it will show a return for true beat em ups.
F.E.A.R. 3 The F.E.A.R. Series has always shown that horror still has a presence in today's video game market, but with the inclusion of co-op, could this iteration be the best yet?
Child of Eden Rez's spiritual successor, this game has been hyped about for quite sometime. With the use of Kinect and Move, this could truly be something special.
5. L.A. Noire
On the surface this detective game looks very average and similar to all the other detective games on the market. Delve a little deeper though and you find a game being published by renowned games-publisher Rockstar. With this comes a reported $50 million development cost and use of an entire new technology. The new technology is something called "MotionScan", this uses over 30 Hd cameras to capture an actors face in amazing detail. This is used within the game within interrogations, can you tell if your suspect is lying or not?
4. Red Faction: Armageddon
Guerrilla was a good game, but it wasn't great. Hopefully Red Faction will reach that status again with Armageddon, Volition have done away with the open world and have gone for a more linear, narritive-based shooter. The destructible environments that Red Faction is known for will still be there, so don't worry about that. What will be interesting is to see if Volition learnt from their mistakes with Guerrilla and produce an engaging story while also letting us have with blowing up stuff, because that is the main appeal of Red Faction.
3. Infamous 2
The original Infamous was a great super-hero game, not only could you have all these cool powers, but you could choose how to use these powers; for good or for evil. The sequel does that but just adds more. Players can now create their own content for the game, making missions that they want to and having other people play them. I like to think of it as Infamous meets Little Big Planet.
2. Duke Nukem: Forever
Wow there is no other game in existance, past, present or probably ever again, that will be 13 years in the making. The game was originally announced back in 1998, it began development before the turn of the Millennium. Since then it has changed engines and developers multiple times and then it was officially dead, just to be bought back to life for a June release this year. Gamers have been waiting for this for ages and will be overjoyed to finally get their hands on a copy of this game. The only question is, after all this time, will it live up to expectations?
1. Portal 2
Some may disagree with this choice, but the original Portal was such a gem and the sequel seems on track to just make it better. Valve didn't have much faith in the original so bundled it with The Orange Box and Portal turned out to the most critically acclaimed game out of the bundle. Valve have now given the production team more money and more time. With new gameplay additions like repulsion gel and laser puzzles, I can only imagine Portal 2 being even better than the original.
