An ideal location for your HOLIDAY HOMES SPAIN is Tenerife. Its capital Santa Cruz is also the administrative centre of the Canary Islands and sits in a large natural bay with a stunning backdrop of the Anaga Mountains, an excellent place from where tourists can explore the northeast of the island. Many cruise ships arrive in the port from as many nations. The island is only 210 kilometres off the coast of northern Africa and has become a valuable commerce and communications hub for the whole of the Canary Islands. Santa Cruz has excellent shopping facilities with plenty of 'tax free' goods offered from international brands.
Every February Santa Cruz plays host to one of the biggest and most spectacular events in the world as it hosts the carnival of Santa Cruz de Tenerife attracting a million people from everywhere. The Carnival is considered second to the other famous carnival held in Rio de Janeiro and because of this the two towns became twinned. Playa de las Americas was built in the 1960s and is a tourist Mecca. This is the northern Europeans playground, full of British pubs, fish and chip shops and many other fast food outlets. This is the place for those not looking for everything Spanish, a place where they feel home from home but at the same time have the freedom to party all hours in some of the coolest night spots in Tenerife. When the morning comes it would be time to sleep off the previous night's session down on the artificial beaches.
Puerto de la Cruz is the complete opposite of the Playa de las Americas: a popular destination for the tourist with a Spanish holiday mindset. The cobbled roads in the old town with characteristic colonial style cafes and bars along with the charming plazas and other tourist attractions a selection of top boutiques. All set in the region of the Orotava Valley among an oasis of lush green and tropical fruits.
Something for the children is Loro Parque, an animal adventure park with some incredible shows using dolphins, sea lions, and killer whales. The park was designed by a local architect and it consists of several swimming pools and a salt water lake with sub tropical gardens surrounding it. If it is parks that spark an interest then on the southern coast of Tenerife there are two fantastic parks near Costa Adeje: Siam Park and Aqualand are the ones not to be missed.
Tenerife has some of the best artificial beaches around the Canary Islands. There is the chic Playa del Duque with an elegant promenade alive with excellent restaurants and bars. The Playa Fanabe is an ideal location for swimming and of course all along the coast a variety of water sports from jet-skiing and wind surfing or, if preferred, whale and dolphin watching while in their natural habitats. By night all the resorts offer an excellent night life with international cuisine on offer, plenty of lounge bars to watch the world go by while sitting on the terraces and places to party with music venues; the list is almost endless. All of which make up an ideal location for HOLIDAY HOMES SPAIN.
