Stress is an integral part of life. Especially if you are a college student. you will experience significant amount of stress during your school years. But will all of the activities and responsibilities that takes up a student schedule.There are a number of techniques to help college students minimize the stress they are feeling. The ability to manage stress well will help you cope with the daily pressures of college and give you more time and energy to enjoy your college experience.

Manage Time

Manage your time wisely. Create study schedule, make a list of things you need to do. Break up big projects into smaller chunks. If you need help, don't be afraid to ask your parents or teachers to help you formulate study time table for school and adhere to them.

Organization

You will have a lot things that you need to file. Things like notes, assignments, submission dates and examination times. You can use a calender, a notebook or your phone. Find a method that works for you. Keep organized. Know what you have to do and when, so you don't get behind at schoolwork.

Create a study environment

Try and find a place that you can use as a study area. Ideally it should be quite and it can only be use for your study only. Gather all the material that you need. You want to keep distractions to a minium. If you cannot find a quite area, control the noise level and visual environment to an acceptable level. Stay away from the bed because you will fall asleep.

Study Techniques

The conventional method of study may not work as well for you. If you remember and understand things better by experiments rather than reading about them in books, you should do these as much as possible. Remember, there is no one 'correct' way of studying.

Sleep Well

When you are in a sleep deprived state. You are less productive. And your may find it more difficult to learn or focus in class because you concentration is diminished. Take a nap during lunch break or in between lectures. Studies show that 20 minutes of sleep in the afternoon provides more rest than 20 minutes more sleep in the morning stressed out about schoolwork.

Be an Optimist

There will be times when you will fail a few tests. Or a subject that completely mystery to you. Don't be harsh on yourself. Recognize that your are learning something new. And there is no way to get it right every time. Learn from each failure or mistake and move on.
