Popular Types of Camping

Camping is a wonderful way to get in touch nature and hang out in a place where you don't have a clock ticking the seconds away. However, we are not all on the same level of fondness for nature, which is why several different types of camping have developed.

Thankfully, whether you cannot live without your hot bubble bath or detest all things non-organic and commercial, you can find a camping method that works for your lifestyle. Generally, camping can be delineated based on the level of "roughing it" that you must perform while on your vacation. Here are several popular types of camping, in order of least intense to most intense.

Glamping. A combination of the words "glam" and "camping," this is actually a very luxurious vacation. This is a newly developed style of camping that involves top-notch features to keep you comfortable. For example, people who are glamping can stay in "tents" that are actually the size of hotel rooms, with carpet on the floor and toilets and showers with running water. Also, many sites are connected to fancy spas that provide massages and hot mud wraps in the middle of the serene desert, or five-star chefs who can provide you with tasty food sans s'mores and hot dogs.

Recreational Vehicle. R.V. camping is a way for you to travel and enjoy all the sites that nature has to offer, all from the comfort of your own "home." Many campsites offer R.V. hookups so that you can have electricity and running water. People appreciate recreational vehicle travel because you bring your bed with you, and you don't really have to bother about unpacking. Additionally, there's no tent to set up, and you don't have to worry about setting up a campfire since you can cook in the vehicle. Meanwhile, you can park underneath tall trees in a tranquil forest or next to the beach and listen to the tide come in.

Tent. This is the type of camping is the one that most people think of when they imagine spending the night under the stars. Tent camping is a wonderful way to get in touch with nature because you can listen to the animals and landscape around you even as you are protected by your tent. You can basically choose to pitch your tent anywhere: at a campsite with running water nearby, or even in the safety of your own backyard.

Wilderness. Wilderness camping is the wildest form. You basically set off with only a small backpack of emergency provisions, and maybe a tent. You purposely choose to avoid modern luxuries like running water. Wilderness campers often want to find places to spend the night, like a cave, or even build their own shelter. Sometimes, you can hunt and gather food based on the rules for the park where you are trekking.

If you are looking to go camping, there are a number of things that you take. For more information regarding businesses that provide outdoor products, check out the Business Directory today.
