Getting Over a Married Man
Getting Over a Married Man

Attached men seem to have their own appeal for some reason, and getting over a married man can be just as tough to get over than their single brothers, if not more so. There are a many reasons for this, but the most common is that since these men are unavailable they seem both a thrilling adventure and a safe retreat.

There is the thrill of doing something taboo and the fear of getting caught leads to excitement for many of these couples. And yet in the back of her mind she never truly believes that he will leave his wife so the relationship will never enter areas that smack of commitment.

There is no doubt that getting over a married man can be a truly heartbreaking and difficult experience, but it is move on and be happy with or without him. Nobody said it would happen in a single day, but here are a few hints on helping speed up the process, even if just a little bit.

1. Think About His Wife

For A Minute

If you're seeing a married man, it can blame everything on his wife, after all he does. She must be this horrible person who doesn't let him fully experience life or why else would he be with you, right? Try considering how you might look in her eyes though. You are the one threatening her marriage and the vows that she made with her husband. Remember that a married man is a married man by choice; nobody forced him to get married and nobody is forcing him to stay that way. If he truly wanted to break up with his wife to be with you, he would. He probably truly cares about her and his family but misses the thrill of being single. Do you really want to be his hidden second choice?

2. You Deserve Better

Dating a married man comes with a great deal of sacrifice. If he has a wife at home he probably can only spend certain times of the day with you and definitely certain times of the night, but do these times work for you? And what about holidays? If you are in a relationship with somebody, you should be able to call them when you need them, and vice versa. There is nothing worse than having a bad day and wanting to call your partner to get some well earned sympathy only to find that it isn't a safe time to call. If he has a wife at home and possibly a family, you are robbing yourself of that option. You want a man who can take care of you and make you feel special for who you are, not play second fiddle for the rest of your life..

3. Really Think About Your Future

Most people date with the real desire to find a husband, someone who compliments them and to spend the rest of your life with. Married men already have this person , and chances are that they are not willing to give up on that, at least right away. And if their are children involved it is even more complicated. By the time they have their decisions made and all of their stuff together, you may have missed out on some other great and readily available guy waiting to make all of your dreams come true! Don't you deserve that chance?

4. Wake Up!

It is easy to fantasize about a married man and the way that things might be, but the truth of the matter is that this might be the very man that you want to distance yourself from. Apparently he is not faithful in marriage to his current, wife, so why should he choose to be faithful to you even if he should choose to leave her for you? Do you really want to be looking over your shoulder all the time, wondering if your man can be trusted? The allure of married men is simply an illusion, one that can really make you believe that he is the one for you when in all actuality, he is already the 'perfect someone' for somebody else.Do yourself a favor by finding an unattached man of your own to build a long lasting relationship and maybe even a life with. If you stay in a relationship with a married man, you can't take that next step in life and every woman deserves a chance at a real relationship of her own and having a good man to love her; that includes yourself and the 'other woman' in his life.
