Having learned much about internet affiliate marketing in such a short time, I have seen many people succeed but much more people fail and ask why they don't succeed. Most people start internet marketing by joining forums such as blackhatworld or moneymakerdiscussion or even wealthyaffiliate (a pay per month forum). Sooner or later, tons and tons of ebooks titled get rich quick and other enticing keywords that will draw people into purchasing these ebooks. Most of them are not scams contrary to popular believe. Beware because there are ebooks that ARE scams out there. Most of these ebooks will work, the catch is that these ebooks and other make money online programs out there require some very specific traits in people in order for money to start coming in.
Dedication - To be successful at any venture, one must have dedication. Many people are lazy and suffer from the illness called procrastination. Some people are not willing to put in the time to work for themselves. In a technologically advanced world we have so many distractions. On the internet alone there are facebook, youtube and twitter just to name a few. Tell yourself that you will be dedicated to your venture and control your subconscious then you are one step closer to achieving your goals as an internet marketer.
Mindset - Many people are conditioned to go to work at a specific time, go lunch for a specific time, and work for a specific time. What if I told you that there are people out there that do not follow these guidelines? They work when they want, where they want and as much as they want and still be able to pay the bills on time and enjoy life? These people know early on that all this is possible as long as they change their mindset on money. I am not saying quit your day job and spend all your time on internet marketing. I am saying that when you begin with internet marketing, you must treat it as a job because you do not have a boss breathing down your neck anymore. You are your own boss so do not get lazy and do not procrastinate. If it is time for you to get in front of a computer and work on internet marketing but the sun is shining and your friends are calling you out, you have to control yourself.
Distractions - As I mention early on, there are tons of distraction all around you. Your friends, games, television, net surfing just to name a few. Control yourself and do not let those distractions take hold of you. When you work, work hard. When you play, play hard. Never confuse the two.
Money If there is a venture you want to take part in but money is a factor, then think of this: how much money have you spent on luxuries like an expensive coffee drink? How much money have you spent on going out with your friends and spending recklessly? What I am trying to say is, it is better to invest in your future then it is to spend your money on temporary pleasures. Think of all factors of your life where you can cut down cost and set a fund aside to invest it in yourself. If it takes a month then wait for it. If it takes a year then wait for it. Be patient.
Many internet affiliate marketers fail because when the going gets tough, they quit. They make up excuses and say it is not for me or I just do not understand or it is too hard. Never give up on yourself. It is always darkest before dawn. When starting on internet marketing or any other venture, you will find tons of roadblocks. Overcome these roadblocks and treat them like a mini accomplishment. With many small accomplishments, you will one day succeed on any venture you set out to take part in. Nothing in life comes easy.
