Going into business for yourself can be a daunting thing; especially if you are new to the world of work and unsure about how to get things done.

This is particularly true for university students who have just finished their degree and now want find their own office space.

So for recent Jacksonville University graduates here is some advice about setting up your own business and acquiring your own offices.

1) Firstly, get outside opinions. Just because you think your business idea is a sure thing', doesn't mean others will to. Don't rely on parents or friends, instead ask a financial advisor, an expert in the field or see whether your bank manager would give you a loan, if they would then your business may be worth investing in.

2) Then think about how many customers you are likely to have or how many products you will probably sell. This will let you...

3) ...work out how much money you are likely to make. Will you be making 1 cent per product or $5 per product? This will be a good indicator to let you know when you will break even or even how long it will be until you make a profit.

4) Next, think about your overheads. How much will the Jacksonville office space be? And how much floor space will you need? As well, think about how many staff you will need to make your business function and how much it would cost to pay their wages.

5) After this consider other overheads, such as amenities, insurance, office computers and IT maintenance.

6) And remember when working out a business plan you should always over-estimate costs and under-estimate income, that way if you don't perform as well as you expected you can still break even.

Only when you have considered these handy pieces of advice should you take the first steps on your entrepreneurial dream and start to view offices in the Jacksonville area.
