Promoting your business and website
Promoting your business and website

In the old days, advertising in the good old yellow pages was considered one of the primary ways to promote your work. You could promote in newspapers or magazines to also get the word out. But that was then.

Today, promoting yourself and your business without use of the internet seems like a sure-fire way to struggle. In my work, for example, I help businesses connect to all facets of the web. A good website is very easy to put together and promote. Don'tworry about not knowing much about website development or potential costs. There are many programs out there to help you with this and even free ones as well. If you really wanted to truly invest in your site, you can do so with the promotion side.

With a push of a button, your site can be picked up by the spiders within the internet which essentially connect your site to potential requests users may make. For example, as a virtual assistant, you can find me by typing in key words such as Virtual Assistance, cyber secretary, virtual admin, remote admin assistant, virtual marketing assistant, remote secretary, website assistant, grace castillo, virtual, remote services, virtual accounting and bookkeeping.

You want to use key words that best describe your work and, of course, these words are hopefully congruent with what potential customers are looking for. When these customers are on line, looking for a business to best fit their need, they will use some of these same key words in conducting their search. The spiders are essentially crawling the web to offer the customer a number of business options which are then displayed on-line. The better the business is promoted, the more attention it will capture.

Again, promoting your website does not have to be costly. In fact, I would venture to say that the most important piece of website promoting is in taking the time and effort to make sure it is clean, focusing on what services your business is offering and linking this work accordingly. When youare able to attach your site (i.e., company name) to anothercredible site or program out there, you are essentially promoting yourselfthrough the other site as well. This is but one example of the power of the web, as all this happens, day and night, for you.
