It was a massive rally. Dais was shared by the two starsa Jawan and a KisanRahul Gandhi and Mahendra Singh Tikait.
"You will have to come forward. Look at what the state government has done for you. They have not done anything for you. We can together do it. The development of the state can only be done from Uttar Pradesh and not from Centre", was what Rahul Gandhi said while addressing a massive rally at Sisauli, which was attended mostly by farmers and youngsters.
"The state government is doing nothing. The only thing which is flourishing in the state is Lawlessness, nothing is being done in the positive direction. We need to change this. You have been cheated for the last 15 years, you have been divided in the name of religion & caste", he said.
He further called on the youth and said that the face of the nation can be changed only by the youth. "Only the youth can change the situation. I am here with you and will work with you for the change", he said.
Speaking on the occasion, Mahendra Singh Tikait urged the people to support the BKD and the Congress for the prosperity of the farmers and the state. He warned them to be cautious to the parties, which were working as business houses.
Also sharing the dais was Tikait Junior---Rakesh Tikait. Rakesh also urged the people to come out in large numbers and vote for the Congress-BKD candidates in the polls.
Earlier in the day, Rahul Gandhi's visit to Baghra challenged the authority of Rashtriya Lok Dal leader Ajit Singh. Baghra is said to be Ajit Singh's stronghold. It happened so that both Mr Gandhi and Mr Ajit Singh were in Baghra, while the former was continuing with his road show; the later was addressing a public rally.
Mr Ajit Singh was addressing a public meeting at the Kalyankari Inter College, which is next to Dargah Aliya, and when Rahul Gandhi reached the Dargah, the crowds who were listening to the speech of Mr Singh left the rally venue and went to have a look of the Congress MP. People who came there to listen to the RLD leaders, joined the already massive crowds with Mr Gandhi.
The people not only waved and shook hands with Mr Gandhi but were also full of praises for him. They said that they were quite hopeful of Mr Gandhi and will support him in his endeavor to transform the divisive politics into the politics of development.
"I came here to listen to Mr Ajit Singh, but when I saw Rahul here, I just reached to see him and talk to him. He is good. Not only because he is young but also because he thinks differently", said Chaudhary Dharamvir Singh.
Just before reaching Baghra, Mr Gandhi was in Muzaffarnagar for his road show. It looked liked the whole Muzaffarnagar City was out to welcome Mr Rahul Gandhi. Massive crowd thronged the places wherever Mr Gandhi went. It became quite tough for his cavalcade to move in the city.
"I have never seen so much people on the road in my life ever. He is really drawing enormous support wherever he is going," was the comment of a young Ram Singh Saini, a resident of Muzaffarnagar.
During his road show in Muzaffarnagar City, Mr Gandhi urged the people to support the Congress Party for better governance.
The Jain Samaj of Muzaffarnagar also welcomed Mr Rahul Gandhi at Khalapar, apart from the Youth Congress.
Responding positively to the huge masses, Mr Gandhi came down from the top of his vehicle and mingled with them. People were happy to see their leader amongst them. Later he left Muzaffarnagar for Baghra for his Jan Samparka.
Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, who is on his third leg of campaigning for Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections, was received at Meerapur amidst petal showering and drum beats. Huge crowds, mainly comprising of the youth, welcomed the leader at Meerapur.
Young men ran along with the cavalcade of Rahul Gandhi all along the route shouting slogans and beating drums. People, especially females, were standing on their rooftops in the bylanes of Meerapur showering flower petals on Mr Gandhi. Throughout the route Mr.Gandhi was busy waving, talking and shaking hands with the people who came out in large numbers in his support. Some of the people were seen sharing their problems with Mr Gandhi through written notes, which Mr Gandhi was seen taking note of.
Before reaching Meerapur, Mr Gandhi went to Jansath. Although Mr Gandhi reached a bit late for his Jan Samparka, residents of Jansath waited to welcome him defying the scorching heat.
On his arrival at Jansath, Mr Gandhi was received by a huge crowd of enthusiastic supporters and party workers. In his usual style of campaign, Mr Gandhi mingled with the crowds and shared words with them. People thronged the roads to have a glimpse of the leader and to share a word with him. And Mr Gandhi didn't disappoint the crowds--- smiling, waving and shaking hands with people on both side of the road he crossed by.
"Rahul Gandhi's visit will definitely leave an impact. He is a young leader and we are looking up to him. We want him to become the Prime Minister of the country and fulfill our dreams," said a delighted Vikas Saini, after attending the road show of Rahul Gandhi at Meerapur.
Irshad, a resident of Jansath also sounded very hopeful after Mr Gandhi's visit. "He came to us. We are hopeful that now things will change. Industries in the area are not functioning because of the lack of electricity. We hope that he will change this", said he.
Similar were the feelings of Ahsan Saifi, "I have never seen such a high profile leader mingling with the people like he did. Insha Allah, we all will come together and will make him victorious so that he fulfills our dreams".
Meerapur and Jansath were the first destination of Mr Gandhi's third leg of campaign. From there he moved on to Muzaffarnagar, Baghra and then addressed a public meeting at Sisauli in Khatauli, from where he will be going to Jhinjhana and Saharanpur. He is scheduled to address a public meeting at Jhinjana also.
